Kazan Expo IEC, Tatarstan
Comprehensive equipment of the expocenter with an automated accreditation and access control system based on the Lenta-Expo TSACS and the Resonance smart turnstiles.
Implemented in 2019.
The multifunctional Kazan Expo exhibition center is a newest world class complex, a modern business arena for holding major international and national exhibitions of various formats and levels of complexity, congresses, forums, and other major events. The venue was built specifically for hosting the 2019 WorldSkills Kazan Championship on a 74.8-hectare site near Kazan International Airport.
The comprehensive equipment of the facility with Lenta-Expo TSACS ensured full automation of:
registration of accreditation;
ticket sales;
verification and access control.
The Lenta - Accreditation ACS allows issuing accreditation access badges. Application data can be submitted both via the website and mobile app and using the accreditation terminal in self-service mode.
The system's functionality allows:
setting up events;
formation of unique badges;
2-factor approval method;
ability to work with other accreditation systems, etc.

The unique feature of the accreditation system is the ability to interface with third party agents where the customer uses a different accreditation system.In this case, the exhibition complex system can only operate as an access control system offering instant passage reporting.
Third party agent website can be connected to the accreditation system with the ability to install a widget with a full-fledged accreditation function, including a questionnaire with custom fields, etc. Data is saved in a dedicated exportable report in the website database.
Additionally, the accreditation system is equipped with the Lenta ACS ticket module as the Kazan Expo IEC also houses the Ilgam Shakirov concert hall, largest in the Volga region, with a total area of 4,156 m2 and a capacity of 3,000 seats. This facilitates streamlined ticket sales, rendering access control services, and interacting with ticket operators.
Accredited visitors access control is based on the Resonance smart turnstiles. The turnstiles are equipped with barcode/QR code scanners, contactless card readers, interactive screens and IP cameras connected directly to the facial recognition system, which is integrated with the accreditation system. As a result, changing recognition software solutions is made simple and doesn't require equipment replacement.
A special mobile platform, smart turnstiles can be arranged in a row to build temporary access zones in the shortest possible time and anywhere within the exhibition complex.
At the turnstile passage, the visitor's face is verified against the biometric model of the person who ha registered the accreditation badge. Then the badge carrier's identity is verified.
For this purpose, 2-factor identification is used:
first, the accreditation validity is checked, i.e. the user's ability to pass using the provided identifier (card, QR code)
next, the face of the user in front of the turnstile is verified against his biometric data in the system.
If both checks are completed successfully, the visitor will be allowed to pass through the turnstile. Thus, only the accreditation badge holder can pass in automated mode. Face recognition becomes mandatory in all situations when the pass, badge or ticket may not be transferred to another person.
