A unique spectators and accredited persons access control system developed for the Universiade upon the project of the Ministry of Informatization and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan, is successfully applied at the venues of the 16th Aquatics Championship held from July 24 to August 9, 2015 in Kazan.

The World Aquatics Championship is the largest international aquatics competition held under the aegis of the International Swimming Federation. More than 2,600 athletes and 1,800 officials from 190 countries came to participate in the competitions in Kazan.

Journalists, volunteers, representatives of emergency and customer services work at the venues of the Championship. The total number of accredited participants exceeds 36 thousand people.

The scale of the sports event requires increased safety measures for its participants. For this purpose, the complex multilevel accredited person access control system was deployed at thirteen facilities of the Championship within the information and communication infrastructure.

The similar system has been applied at the Universiade of 2013, and has shown a perfect performance. The main tasks of the system are access control and granting to the Championship participants to the territory and internal sections of the facilities according to the areas of responsibility.

In preparation, in accordance with the FINA requirements and the specifics of the Championship, the company "Infomatika" upgraded as the access system and terminal accreditation. Currently, 13 sites of the Championship successfully operates 82 special reading terminal.

In the lead-up, in accordance with the requirements of FINA and specifics of the Championship, the Infomatika Company has modernized both the access system, and the accreditation terminals.Currently, 82 special reading terminals successfully operate at 13 Championship facilities. To pass through the access control system, an accreditation badge is used, containing the holder's name, picture and identification code, where the comprehensive information about the holder and his/her right to access any security zone is encrypted (arena, press center, etc.).

The accredited person access control system is integrated with the AIS "Accreditation Control", where detailed access data and rules for all accredited participants of the Championship are stored.

According to these rules, the terminal issues a decision on possibility of passage.

Despite the complex technical component, the terminals have a user-friendly interface and do not present challenges when in use. All that is required from a visitor is to attach the badge to the electronic reader. In the event that access is prohibited, the reason for rejection will be displayed.

In average, 30 thousand persons pass through the access control system every day.

From the beginning of the Championship, more than 200 thousand participants passed through the accreditation terminals.

During the Championship, the Infomatika's experts provide 24/7 support of the access control system both by hotline, and directly on sites. In the company office in the "IT Park", the powerful monitoring system allowing responding promptly to any changes in the ACS operation, is deployed.
