Smart turnstiles for Saint Peterburg berth

Horizon smart turnstiles manufactured by Infomatika have been installed and tested at the Admiralty berth in St. Petersburg as part of a pilot ticket access control project.

The smart turnstiles are integrated with the Interurban Transport Agency (SPb GKU AVT) ticket system and provide control of passengers' access with boarding tickets.

Horizon turnstiles are the only ones in Russia with a confirmed IP65 moisture and dust protection class, allowing them to be used outdoors without a shelter all year round, which is critical in St. Petersburg's climatic conditions.

The uniqueness of the project is is due to the smart turnstiles being powered by solar panels installed on the berth. In the event of a power outage, the UPS built into the smart turnstile will keep the device running autonomously for up to thirty hours.

The smart access control system is a perfect solution for facilities where utility lines and electricity and telecom networks cannot be installed beneath the turnstiles' footing. All electronic components (readers, ACS controller, information display, etc.), including software, are already factory-built into the smart turnstile, ensuring complete intercompatibility of the solution elements and allowing the smart system to be deployed and launched twice as quickly as traditional turnstiles.
