Infomatika has deployed the LENTA SEACS electronic access control system at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Qatar. The work scope included development, supply and commissioning of more than 120 units of unique smart access control equipment.

FIFA WORLD CUP REQUIREMENTS:
STADIUM PERIMETERS AND AREAS
- Electronic Access Control* 70.58.10.70. “Access to the green Inner Stadium Perimeter requires the Ticket to be validated by the electronic access control system scanners at the turnstiles.”
- Turnstiles for Exit* 70.58.40.60.40. “…around the Inner Stadium Perimeter generally an average of 1 turnstile for exit per 10 turnstiles for entrance (at least 1 turnstile for exit per entrance area) shall be installed”
- VVIP/VIP Areas* 70.58.40.60.40. “Given requirements for VVIP’s it is recommended that turnstiles will be excluded and that handhelds wile be recommended instead whereas for VIP it shall be turnstiles.”
- Redundancy of Central Control units* 70.58.40.60.30. “The system shall be designed in order to enable redundancy regarding the central control unit, in case the unit fails.”
- Turnstiles for Disabled* 40.110.10. “There must be one disable turnstiles in every group of turnstile with a dedicated queue. Arrangements shall be in place to ensure that all those entering by such routes are counted among the spectators, attending the event.” The most practical design solution is to provide level access via a gate or door, with an appropriate vision panel, which is staffed by a steward.

VALUE OF A SPECTATORS ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM IN IT INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE STADIUM
The main mission of the Stadium ticketing system is sale of tickets, season tickets and other various paid services. SEACS (stadium electronic access control system) provides access control for spectators, accredited persons and technical staff. SEACS allows to record and save all data concerning financial transactions, provision of services and others.
SEACS is the front-end system of the Stadium: the quality and speed of services providing for Spectators, passage speed through access control device and physical security on Stadium site - all this depends on convenience, ergonomics, design and reliability of the system. The ticketing system is inextricably linked to other important IT systems of the Stadium. It is a key component of the customer service and security system and is a main data provider for marketing and enterprise management too.

SEACS must be able to function with many other systems, such as parking systems, CCTV, fire alarm and face recognition systems. It is very important that sufficient level of system integration must ensure the best functionality.

SEACS INTEGRATION INTO IT INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE STADIUM
SEACS should be integrated into the Stadium IT Infrastructure. This Integration is possible either directly System-to-System (best practice) or via enterprise service bus (ESB). In case of direct integration only one of the most important systems can be integrated, i.e.:
- FIFA ticketing; Parking system;
- External ticketing providers (e.g.: Qatar commercial ticketing);
- CCTV and face recognition systems; Internal ACS (e.g.: outer perimeter ACS)
- Building Management System;
- Fire alarm.
In case of direct integration with big quantity of external systems, there’s large risk of getting a lot of problems with data consistency and integrity in all systems.
The integration of any heterogeneous systems is possible when we use Service Bus system. The capabilities of ESB depend only on the internal structure of the systems that integrated.
In this case we should choose a provider/integrator which will be responsible for future integration and systems interaction. During IT infrastructure project design for Stadium, we need to choose provider/integrator and the further data exchange should be done through it.
Such approach will help to avoid the most common problems that arise when integrating system-to-system.
SEACS LENTA has API for direct integration and for integration using via Enterprise Service Bus.
TICKETING SYSTEM (OPTIONAL)
Ticketing system is an optional part of the Lenta system
- Ticketing System implements functions for ticket and season tickets sale, cards and other entrance documents, issuance of free invitations, including the operational control of ticket booking, recording of revenue used for processing entrance documents, generating reports and statistics.
- Ticketing System is an independent subsystem of the System LENTA and can be operated without Access Control System.
- Ticketing system provides ability to distribute tickets using additional sales channels (agent networks) via online access to ticket information using System Integration Gateway.
- Can be used as stadium own pre-tournament ticketing system
